Ainsley Lewis
CO-VP Outreach
I am a third-year Health Sciences student and research assistant in the Health and Wellness Equity Research Group (HWERG) here at Carleton. My favourite parts of my role with the HWERG are conducting fieldwork in the community and writing! Outside of school and work, I like to spend my free time birdwatching, doing nature photography (especially fungi), and painting!

Hi everyone! I'm from Nova Scotia, and I'm super passionate about women's empowerment through health. I am interested in health policy and global health, as well as how the social determinants of health disproportionately effect marginalized populations. I love to spend time with my friends, listen to all kinds of music, and play pool! :)

Hi everyone, I'm Megan! I am in my 3rd year of Health Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences, and a minor in biology. Along with being a part of the HSS, I work in the Oudhoff lab studying immunity and infection in the gut! Outside of school you can find me spending time with friends, swimming, reading, or watching my favourite shows! I'm super excited to be one of your VPs of Academics and can't wait to see what this year has in store!

My name is John, I'm from a town just outside of Ottawa and I'm in my 3rd year here at Carleton. Speaking of 3rd year, I've also been lucky enough to serve 3 years as VP of Finance for the society, so it's been cool to see how the society and changed and grown from the pandemic days to now. I'm still figuring out my future plans but I hope to find a place within the healthcare field that I can make a positive impact in.

Hi everyone! My name is Rihanna Omar and I am the VP of Communications for the 2023-2024 HSS school year! I am currently in my 4th year of Health sciences with a passion for studying global health and health disparities around the world! My future goals include working in health policy and completing a masters in Public Health. In my free time, I love to go on walks (when its not -20 degrees outside) and read different books. Looking forward to an exciting Communications run this year with the lovely communications team members!

Hey everyone! My name is Amelia Neto, and I am a fourth year health sciences student. I currently do research in Dr. Cassol's Systems Immunology Lab for my thesis project. Outside of school, I volunteer with the Dementia Society weekly where I visit with patients to help facilitate social interaction. I also play hockey and soccer, and love going to the gym! Hi! My name is Zainab. I'm in my third year in health science with a concentration in biomedical science. Along with being in the Vp academics for the health science society, I am also in the health science anti racism and equity working group. I am also currently doing a directed study in Dr Joerg Overhage's lab. I love playing basketball. I'm an also a pro at binge watching shows. (Favourite show is Criminal minds and favourite sitcom is Brooklyn 99).

A fun fact about me: Whenever I cook, I am very particular about the measurements, so my dishes turn out delicious every time. Future goal: I want to pursue speech-language pathology. My goal is to use my skills to help people with disabilities and raise awareness of neurodivergence

Last year I was one of the second year reps for the health science society & I am really excited to be one of the director of communications this year! I spend most of my time studying or in school but any time i’m not, I am usually hanging out with friends, trying new restaurants, watching and making tiktoks or rewatch greys anatomy for the 100th time!
